How to Fix PS5 Data Transfer Not Working Issue (2025)

Play Station 5 (PS5) is a popular video game console, a pride to be owned by gamers. If you have recently bought the latest version of PS5, you can easily transfer game data between PS4 and PS5 consoles.

However, many users are complaining about PS5 Data Transfer not working issue. According to their complaints, whenever they try to transfer data from PS4 to PS5, they get an error code CE-112069-9 with a message saying: ‘An error occurred on data transfer via a network’.

Make sure your set-up is correct to enable data transfer without any glitches. Check if your PS4 and PS5 consoles are signed into the same account. If not then do sign them to the same account to fix the issue.

Check Internet Connection

It is also possible that the transfer is not working due to a poor internet connection. Do check if you have a strong internet connection.  

  • Go to Settings from the home screen on your PS5 console.
  • Select Network and then tap on Connection Status.
  • Tap on Test Internet Connection.
  • If the internet is slow, try to reboot the router to improve your Internet connection and solve the error.
  • You can also use an ethernet connection for a stable connection.
  • Turn off your router and restart it after a few minutes.
  • Check if the issue is fixed.

If you are still facing an issue with the data transfer then try switching to an alternate method such as USB Device or through cloud storage.

Update Your System Software

  • Update your system software to the latest version. 
  • Put PS 4 and PS 5 consoles into Safe Mode.
  • Run a software update.

Restart The PS5 Console

  • Turn off your PS5 console. 
  • Ensure it’s in power-down mode and not in rest mode.
  • Press the power button and hold it till the device beeps twice.
  • Unplug it from the wall and wait five or more minutes. 
  • Then, reconnect it to the wall and reboot.

Check Trophy Information Is Synced

You must also see that your trophy information is synchronized. 

  • While viewing Trophies.
  • Press the Options button. 
  • Next press Sync with PlayStation Network.
  • Check if the problem is fixed. 

Factory Reset Your Console

Try factory resetting your console to fix the error.

  • Connect the USB drive to your PS5 console.
  • Select Settings go to System 
  • Tap on System Software 
  • Click on Back Up and Restore 
  • Finally, tap on Back Up Your PS5.
  • Select the data you wish to back up and then follow the on-screen instructions to finish the backup process. 
  • Soon your console will restart automatically. 
  • Now go to the Settings again.
  • Navigate to System and then System Software.
  • Tap on Reset Options > Reset your console.
  • Choose Reset to factory reset your PS5.

This process will take time so wait until it is completed and then restart your console.
