On Mac

  • Click on Prefer Closed Captions and SDH and turn it on.

Update AirPlay Devices:

If you are using outdated iOS, macOS, tvOS and other devices then update the devices to fix the issue.

On an iPhone, iPad, or Mac

  • Go to System Settings
  • Click on General
  • Tap on Software Update and install any pending updates. 
  • On Apple TV go to settings and click on System and next tap onSoftware Updates to update it.
  • For other Smart TVs, you need to check your device settings menu to find the update option.

Restart AirPlay Devices:

Restarting devices on which Airplay is used can also fix the issue.

On iPhone or iPad 

  • To turn off your iPhone or iPad.
  • Go to settings.
  • Tap on General.
  • Slide to power off the device.   
  • Press the side button to restart. 
  • On Mac, you need to click on the Apple logo. Tap on to reboot the PC.
  • If AirPlay isn’t working on your smart TV you can unplug your TV from the wall, wait for a few seconds, and plug it in again.

Use Only In-Built Subtitles:

  • Check AirPlay Settings.
  • Go to Settings on your device.
  • Tap General.
  • Tap AirPlay & Handoff.
  • Tap Automatically AirPlay.
  • Choose a setting and get suggested AirPlay connection notifications.

Toggle Wi-Fi On and Off

Another quick fix for AirPlay problems is to disconnect from your current Wi-Fi network and reconnect again. 

  • On an iPhone or iPad swipe down from the screen to disable Wi-Fi then re-enable it again in Control Center. 
  •  On an Apple TV  or any other smart TV  unplug it from the wall.
